 Job Overview

The Collection Lead provides project planning leadership and oversight on day-to-day field crew activities through effective communication and collaboration.  This position will also be responsible for helping drive project-specific deliverables, in addition to helping support the development of focused production processes within the company's Public Works sector.  The Collection Lead is responsible for mentoring and training field staff effectively, while ensuring technical and quality excellence for field collected data.

 Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees and drives technical execution and production processes on specific projects
  • Responsible for the day-to-day health and activities of the assigned project and team members through effective communication and collaboration while managing the team's technical execution
  • Create project reports, including daily and forecasted collection progress
  • Help guide field logistics
  • Lead daily field crew calls
  • Develop and carry out technical training of field staff to ensure safe and effective data collection
  • Ensure data collection practices are adhered to and expanded upon as needed
  • As delegated, communicates with customers/partners items of technical nature

 Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience leading teams or projects strongly desired
  • Experience mentoring team members and developing processes
  • Geospatial experience should include working with relevant software applications and production suites

 Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (four years). A minimum of 1-year relevant skill experience including: mentoring teams, digital cartography, image processing, and computer technology; knowledge of geographical information systems, geospatial production techniques, and digital data formats preferred
  • Previous geospatial data production experience, especially the collection of feature and terrain data from satellite imagery and other source
