Job Summary:

The Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting and administering the infrastructure at Continental Mapping. This position requires a self-driven person who proactively monitors the environment, diagnoses issues, and works with team members to resolve them. Additionally, this person will work through L2-L3 helpdesk issues, while mentoring helpdesk staff, to ensure sector IT needs are met in a timely manner.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree and six (6) years' relevant work experience, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience managing systems in remote offices and working with remote employees

 Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Help implement large company-wide projects or initiatives
  • Basic Administration and monitoring VMWare virtualized environment across multiple sites
  • Basic Administration of Cisco based network and WatchGuard firewalls
  • Assist in troubleshooting virtual and physical network infrastructure as it relates to servers and switches
  • Administration of Windows and Linux based server instances
  • Ensure backups and DR replication are functioning correctly
  • Active Directory, Azure AD and Office 365 administration
  • Assist in troubleshooting VDI related server and client issues
  • Handle L2 and L3 helpdesk tickets, train helpdesk staff when applicable
  • Participate in after hours on-call rotation

 Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows server 2012r2-2019 operating systems.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and configuration of network components (Cisco, Watchguard)
  • Advanced knowledge of Office 365 across entire stack of products (Email, Azure, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Ability to troubleshoot database performance issues (MSSQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience working through assigned projects in a timely manner with some direction
  • Experience managing a cloud PBX phone system (RingCentral, O365 E5)
  • Experience writing scripts or using automation tools to simplify IT processes
  • Ability to communicate technical issues in written and/or verbal form
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • NIST cybersecurity framework experience a plus
