The Operations Manager is a senior leadership role that will lead and oversee all aspects of sector operations; providing leadership, direction and oversight to ongoing mapping programs and/or specific projects.  This role is responsible for execution of all programs and supporting General Manager with the financial management of the Sector.

Operational Effectiveness

  • Improve the operational systems, processes, and policies to drive operational success of the Sector.
  • Develops processes and procedures that will optimize operational efficiency and quality assurance.
  • Drive policy and business process standardization improvements across Sector.
  • Integrate customer requirements and participation into a comprehensive management plan.
  • Communicate operating philosophy, objectives and expectations to the program staff.
  • Effectively resolve problems and/or conflicts and maintain open communication with the program management and the customer.
  • Conduct regular operational status meetings with Sector GM.
  • Work with Production Team Manager to review user or technical requirements, identify tasks, assign resources and track project status.
  • Coordinate cross sector resource planning with other sector Operations Manager.
  • Serve as point of contact for Sector when GM may be unavailable (foreign travel, extended business travel, etc.).

Financial

  • Assist Sector GM in the development and management of annual operations budget.
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of Sector financial performance against budget, financial and operational goals.
  • Maintain mid and long-term revenue forecasts.

Strategy

  • Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy.
  • Drive initiatives among the Management Team to contribute to long term operational success.

Business Development

  • Support Sales Team by providing technical expertise for written proposals, customer calls, or on-site visits.
  • Provide Sales Team with project updates and summaries.  

Human Resource

  • Assist in hiring process as needed
  • Identify and nurture leadership qualities in employees
  • Handle HR responsibilities for the Production Manager position.
    • Time card approval
    • PTO requests
    • Annual review

Education and/or Experience:

  • Education, training and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in project management, geospatial area of study or similar field with 7+ years of directly related experience or an associate's degree 7+ years of directly related experience or a combination of education and experience equivalent to this.
  • Experience in leading teams or in a supervisory capacity.
  • Project management experience from inception to completion.
  • Experience in photogrammetry and / or geospatial data development workflows.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • PMP or CP preferred
