Continental Mapping Consultants, Inc. of Sun Prairie, WI is seeking to hire full-time Survey Crew Technicians to join our surveying team. This entry-level position also requires deployment up to three weeks with one week off between deployments. All costs of deployment travel and housing are company paid.

As a Survey Technician, you enjoy being able to explore as you are deployed around the United States to each data collection site. Using advanced technology survey equipment, you collect and properly prepare data for geospatial processing by GIS analysts. While completing your surveying duties, you operate equipment including GNSS and GPS hardware, Trimble software and hardware, Total Station, and spirit levels.  You will also learn skills in the latest Trimble surveying and ESRI based mobile data collection software packages.  Your work supports multiple types of contracts with federal, state, and local governments as well as the private industry.


In addition to assisting the Survey Crew Chief with surveying responsibilities, you complete the care and daily maintenance of vehicles and equipment. You load and unload the survey truck and ensure that the survey equipment is charged and ready for the mission.   • Ability to be deployed to locations throughout the US for multiple weeks at a time
  • Ability to work outside in all types of environments
  • Ability to walk in rough terrain while carrying equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally
  • Valid driver's license
  • United States citizen


This is an entry-level position. However, an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required. Basic understanding of survey terminology, methodologies, equipment, and operation is a plus!
