Summary of Position: 

The Senior Geospatial Analyst is responsible for performing feature extraction and data modeling from a variety of sources. This includes extracting specific feature data in accordance with feature and terrain data specifications, project specific requirements, and other customer data specifications. The position requires an excellent understanding of current compilation methodologies and geospatial tools as well as the ability understand and adapt to new trends and toolsets within the geospatial community. The Geospatial Analyst must have demonstrated skill effectively working in a team setting and be capable of providing solid technical solutions to project related issues.

  • Extract feature and/or terrain data from a variety of sources
  • Populate attribution from available sources
  • Create orthorectified imagery products
  • Perform Aerial Triangulation (AT)
  • Perform product editing and finishing tasks
  • Conduct peer review of data (model checks)
  • Perform data conversion between coordinate systems or software applications
  • Create LAS Tiles from Aerial LiDAR
  • Perform LiDAR classification / Bare Earth Editing
  • Edit LiDAR Bare Earth
  • Perform quality assessment of Aerial LiDAR data provided from vendor
  • Provide accurate input on project design, flight planning, control selection, and labor estimates
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist Geospatial Analysts and Technicians with related questions
  • Share best practices with other employees
  • Train current or new employees on new production tasks
  • Lead information driven team meetings

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to interpret and understand client specifications and requirements, data compilation workflows and best practices, and security requirements
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgement and discretion in completing assignments
  • Expert level of understanding of photogrammetric, remote sensing and image processing principles
  • Excellent stereographic vision
  • Geospatial experience, including photo interpretation experience and software to include but not limited to:
    1. Microstation, DATEM, MS Word and Excel
    2. ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Industry standard Aerial Triangulation Orthophoto software such as ISAT and ISOP OrthoVista
    3. Global Mapper, GeoCue, TerraScan, TerraModeler, OrthoPro, Ortho Vista and Photoshop

 

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or education
  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years' relevant skill experience

 

Licenses or certifications required to qualify for this job

  • CMS, CP, GISP Preferred
