Summary of Position:

The Team Lead I will provide leadership coaching to direct reports who may be Geospatial Analysts I, II, III and Geospatial Technicians LTEs. Some duties include assigning work to employees, monitoring team member tasks, mentoring employees and providing input to Production Managers on personnel matters.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience leading teams or projects strongly desired
  • Experience mentoring team members and developing processes
  • Geospatial experience should include working with but not limited to ArcGIS, Socet Set/GXP, Microstation, Photoshop.

 Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (four years). A minimum of 1 year relevant skill experience including the following: mentoring team members, knowledge and experience with digital cartography, image processing, and computer technology; knowledge of geographical information systems, geospatial production techniques, and digital data formats preferred.
  • Previous geospatial data production experience (in particular, experience with large Government Agency Geospatial and Cartographic data, products and services), especially the collection of feature and terrain data from satellite imagery and other sources.
  • Experience mentoring and leading teams to improve efficiency, quality, foster new ideas, resolve conflicts, and improve employee experience.


License and/or Certifications:

  • GISP, CP or PMP preferred

Supervision Exercised:

  • The Team Lead I, with direction from the Production Manager, will:
    • Provide mentorship to team members
    • Guide each team member in their career path at CMC
    • Assign team members on existing and new projects as it relates to their skill sets
    • Contribute to reviews of team members yearly or as needed on a case by case basis
    • Time card approvals / PTO review and approval
    • Disseminate out info to team members as needed
